The Ultimate Africa

This journey aims to bring you the very best of Southern Africa. A taste of Africa's most magnificent sights and wildlife paradise in exquisitely luxurious surroundings. The Ultimate Africa is an exclusive two week journey across an incredible land.

Fly into Johannesburg where you will be met and transferred to the magnificent West Cliff; a sister hotel of the famous Mount Nelson in Cape Town. The West Cliff is the epitome of luxurious, harmonious surroundings and superb service.
(2 nights)

Day 3 A private tour of Pretoria, South Africa's administrative capital. Visit the impressive Voortrekker Monument which provides a dramatic insight into the lives and battles of the early Boer settlers.

Day 4 Board one of South Africa's luxurious trains to Cape Town for an unforgettable experience. Choosing either the sumptuous Blue Train or Rovos Rail, stepping into a bygone era of opulence and adventure. The overnight journey to Cape Town sweeps across the vast arid Karoo bathed in a vibrant terracotta light as the sun sets whilst you dine in candlelit splendour.

Day 5 Upon arrival in Cape Town you will be met and transferred to the historic Mount Nelson Hotel. One of the world's great colonial hotels situated in its own luxuriant gardens. In the afternoon explore the fascinating 'Mother City' together with a memorable cable car ride to the top of Table Mountain (weather permitting). Enjoy a sunset cruise.
(3 nights)

Day 6 Follow the route of the early Portuguese explorers to the Cape of Good Hope where the Indian and Atlantic oceans meet, at the South Western Tip of Africa.

Day 7 Journey through the Cape's verdant winelands picnicking in style at one of the Cape's leading wine estates.

Day 8 Fly up to Zambia via Johannesburg to Victoria Falls. Check-in to the sumptuous Royal Livingston Hote. Victoria Falls is one of the seven natural wonders of the world. Truly magnificent with it's thundering roar and shining rainbows.
In the late afternoon take a walk around the Falls to fully appreciate its pulsating splendour.
(2 nights)

Day 9 Breakfast in the Bush after an exciting elephant ride. White water rafting or bungy jumping for the adventurous. Over fly the Falls in a tethered balloon or take the 'Flight of Angels' a magical experience. Afternoon sun set cruise along the Zambezi River.

Day 10 Drive across the border into Botswana before flying into Botswana's Okavango Delta to the Orient Express's Khwai River Lodge. The Delta is one of the world's last remaining natural treasures with its abundance of game and prolific bird life.
Sleep in comfortable, elegant tents; adding a new dimension to camping, with their polished teak floors, discreet air conditioning, en-suite shower rooms, classic furnishings and picture windows overlooking the vast wilderness of the Delta.
Outstanding game viewing in open landrovers with experienced and knowledgeable rangers.
(2 nights)

Day 11 A full day of leisurely game viewing. The chance to see the rare and endangered Wild Dog, Lion, Leopard and numerous species of antelope particular to this region. Round off the day with sun downers in the Bush.

Day 12 Leave after brunch for Eagle Island (another Orient Express camp) in the heart of the Delta wetlands. Hear the haunting call of the striking African Fish Eagle. Journey along the waterways of the Delta in a dug-out canoe with your guide pointing out the rich and colourful teaming birdlife.
